How to Edit Text in a PDF for Free (Step-by-Step)
PDFs are built to look the same everywhere, which is why changing a single word can feel impossible. The good news is that a modern browser can do it for you without any software. Here is a reliable way to edit text in a PDF.
Step 1: Open your PDF
Open the PDF Editor and upload your file. It is opened inside your browser, so nothing is sent to a server.
Step 2: Select the text
Click any line of text. A dotted box shows what you have selected. Double-click to open it for editing. Type the new wording, or delete it to remove the line.
Step 3: Match the font
Choose "Original font" in the font menu to keep the look of the document. If the original font is missing a letter you typed, the editor falls back to the closest standard font. Urdu and Arabic text is supported too.
Step 4: Apply to all pages
Repeated text such as headers can be replaced on every page at once with "Replace on all pages".
Step 5: Download
Press Download PDF. Your original file is never changed.
Tips for clean results
- Edit short lines rather than long paragraphs, because each line is edited separately.
- Zoom in to check alignment before you download.
- Only edit documents you own or are allowed to change.
